Chiropractic Rehabilitation:

Is Rehabilitation For Me?
  • Do you suffer any pain in a joint, or spine including your neck, upper or lower back?
  • Have you recently restricted yourself from participating in an activity or activities due to pain?
  • Do you feel weak and tired more often than usual?
  • Do you have a specific pain that recurs with a few years?
  • Do you feel your overall general health is declining?

Answering yes to any of the questions targets you for a rehabilitation program.

Your health care provider will want to know about your problem. Be sure to provide your medical history about your general health and illnesses you have had in the past. The more information your health care provider has, the better care he can provide you.

Talk about your symptoms

  • When did you first notice pain? From what part of your body? (be specific)
  • Is there anything which makes the pain get worse?
  • Have you ever had this pain before?
  • Do you take any medicine? How often?
  • What mental illness have you had in the past?
  • Do you avoid any specific activities due to your pain?

The reason to do rehab is really quite simple. As you begin to exercise and move, you mechanically stimulate the injured area, which means you increase the necessary blood supply to your injury, speeding up the healing process. You see, when you are injured, proper nourishment is lost due to poor circulation to the injured tissues. One of the best ways to improve the healing response is to reestablish blood circulation though proper exercise. Just imagine this...

Think of your blood supply as the carrier of building blocks, supplying the necessary nutrients, oxygen and inflammatory cells that your injury needs to recover.

As you exercise the injured area, in essence, you are recruiting and delivering more blood supply to your injury, speeding up the process of recovery.

This rehabilitation program, known as "The Remodeling Phase", improves the overall condition and healing time, allowing a quicker return to pre-injury status.

When injuries are ignored, unfortunately, many people are left with permanent, loss of their range of motion and other complications, simply because they had no exercise program.

Without exercise, damaged muscle tissue will shrink and shorten, and joints will become stiff and very sensitive. This causes decreased activity which facilitates the problem. The healing response decreases and leaves many permanently disabled.

The Synergy Rehabilitation Program has many benefits. The remodeling process occurs as a direct by-product of "motion" of the injured tissue as it "feeds" on proper nutrients from the blood supply. The Synergy Rehabilitation Programs also improve strength, flexibility, endurance, balance and agility.

Synergy Therapeutic Systems' objective is to assist, practioners in restoring a patients' movement and function, reduce pain, and prevent re-injury.

Our program is based on a "train ....don't Strain" philosophy. We believe a sensible exercise program should not be painful. Pain is a natural body's warning sign that is is being over-stressed. Synergy Therapeutic Systems' progressive format is easy to follow, and is specifically designed to help you reach your goals as quickly and safely as possible.

A strong, flexible body is a major step towards taking charge of your overall health and wellness.

Some other benefits of an effective rehab program include:

Do I need to exercise consistently?
Yes!!! To assure a positive outcome, maintaining a consistent routine is essential! To help you achieve better health, ask yourself...what do I want to get out of this rehabilitation program?

Establish your goals from day one. Be as specific as possible. Discuss these goals with your practitioner. What do you exactly want to achieve? Without knowing what you want to achieve, the likelihood of staying consistent with an ongoing Synergy exercise program is often much less, especially in the later phases of rehabilitation when pain is less prominent as a motivator. So set your goals high, set them early, and stick to it!

Is exercise support to help...Why am I in pain?
Muscle soreness is common a day or two after an exercise program is initiated. A common perception may be that you are "hurting" or have "re-injured" yourself. This is normal. when unfamiliar exercises are performed, there is an initial period of "post exercise muscle soreness." As you body becomes accustomed to the exercise routine, you will become stronger with improved range of motion. And the post exercise muscle soreness...that will become a thing of the past.
